Personal info: I have assisted the current stewards with the daily chores of maintenance here since 2007 and wish to further help our communities develop. I am mostly interested in assisting resolve SUL conflicts amicably and responding to permissions requests, though I am familiar with all the currently granted steward tools. Just as a note, when ever I want something translated from any of at least 3 dozen languages, I seek out Kylu, unless i can find a native or near native speaker. She can puzzle out meaning in so many languages, it's stunning. So obviously I don't necessarily agree. But I'm biased, languages were a weak spot in my own candidacy. Yes, the action does have something to do with this election - it is an inappropriate action where he/she should have recused himself/herself and allowed another admin to take the action. I'm sure there is at least one meta admin who is not currently up for reconfirmation or seeking election. That sends up red flags. Whether Kylu is up for election or not has exactly nothing to do with whether it was a good or bad block. If one judges the block on its merits (as should be done), I think the conclusion is quite clear: the block is perfectly appropriate. Kylu is continuing her excellent work even while in the vulnerable position of being judged by the community & I applaud her bravery in doing the right thing even in times when it is difficult to do so. Oppose: My experience of Kylu is that she is untrustworthy and acts as an instrument of others before checking her facts. On En-Wikipedia she blocked me "per IRC" and then refused to comment at the ensuing case, while watching others hurl abuse and lies [1], one of her chief supporters being a now banned user.
